Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well.
I'm writing to forward you an event we're hosting at ITU
<http://itu.edu.pk/> with IDIN at MIT <https://d-lab.mit.edu/idin> from
January 8-22 2016. It's a two week design summit focussed on ICTs and we're
going to be working with different sectors including health and education.
Participants come from all backgrounds (from Pol Sci to Medicine), and
don't necessarily need to be engineers. We're going to have a scholarship
application for selected participants that would cover part (or in some
cases all) of the cost of attendance based on need.
With our experience hosting the Pakistan ICTD workshop
<http://itu.edu.pk/ictdworkshop2014/> (we were able to get visas for Aditya
and Bhomik!), and other international events, we're very particular about
logistics of the event, including participant security. We're working
with USAID
Pakistan
<http://tribune.com.pk/story/906491/development-partnership-support-for-intl-summit-pledged/>
to make sure this is an amazing experience for all.
I'd be grateful if you could forward this opportunity to your ICTD networks
in India and South Africa, including MSRI, perhaps YRICTD/HCI4D mailing
lists?. More details can be found at: http://www.idds-lahore.com/faq/ or
prospective participants can contact us at: idds.ict at mit.edu. Applications
close in a week!
Best Regards,
Mustafa

is
a two-week information communications technology-themed summit taking place
in Lahore, Pakistan from January 8 - January 22, 2016.
The summit will bring together 30 participants from all over the world,
train them in the collaborative design process, and enable six teams to
co-create prototypes and ventures that improve lives of people living in
poverty.
While experience in information communications technology is a plus, it is
not a requirement for participation in IDDS Lahore. Because this is a
themed summit, all IDIN Network members are welcome to apply.
The deadline for submitting applications and references is July 1 and
participants will be notified of final selections by July 20.
